Connection Session: Budgeting for education

On Friday we hosted our first Change Exchange #LoveChange Connection Session in Cape Town. We gathered some parents together for a facilitated discussion around the challenges that they are currently faced with. Mignon Keyser facilitated the group chat while Maya Fisher-French and Sam Wilson added their opinions and encouraged debate.

One of the main topics the whole group actively discussed was the question around budgeting for education. This is a topic that Maya has covered on her blog:  “We need to be able to provide our children not only with decent schooling but also to enable them to study further. The motivation for parents to offer tertiary education is also financial as children who are unable to find work will remain dependents for longer – someone who remains unemployed at a young age has less chance of finding a job as they become older.”
