He’s had a crush on her for years, admits a sheepish Dan Nicholl, as we hear The Giggling Gourmet laughing in the background.
In this episode of Kitchen Closed, Dan is joined online by Chef Jenny Morris, who teaches us how to prepare a poke bowl full of flavour with melt-in-the-mouth sesame-crusted tuna, sticky jasmine rice, avocado, cucumber and radish, and topped with a sweet ginger dressing.
Jenny is one of the most celebrated chefs, cookbook authors and foodie television- and radio hosts in the country and has cooked for the likes of The Duke and Duchess of Kent, Charlize Theron and Thabo Mbeki. Many people, including Dan, have learned to cook by watching The Giggling Gourmet in action.
She chats about the online cooking lessons she’s providing during lockdown, the dishes and ingredients she misses the most while stuck at home, and gives some amazing tips such as what to do with the leftover dressing, how to turn this poke bowl into a vegetarian dish, and how to properly store temperamental sesame seeds as they prepare this healthy treat together in their separate kitchens.
