After recovering from this injury, he managed to become the first home-trained world record holder and individual male Olympic Champion.
Cameron broke his first world record in the 50 m breakstroke in the semi’s at South African nationals in 2009. He won the 100m breaststroke gold medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics in a new world record time of 58.46 seconds and continues to make waves in the sport.
