1. You have more than one chance to pull this off – don’t give up after the first attempt.

2. Only a handful of people manage to make Big Changes like these at the flick of a finger. The best way to make a career change is through a gradual approach.

3. Limit your CV to two pages and tweak it with every application to ensure it’s relevant to the position you’re applying for.

4. You have to believe you can do it – if you don’t, no-one will.

5. You have to know what you want and be able to articulate it.

6. Network, network, network.
