Brazil is the home of carnivals!
At first I thought it was a protest by a lot of people wearing curtains and brightly coloured tablecloths (an honest mistake). I toyi-toyi’d once during a protest in Durban which felt very similar so I was easily confused.
In other news my Portuguese is improving.
