Easing into the new way of life
As we ease out of lockdown, we ease into a new way of life, and interacting with each other. This week Stuart Taylor keeps us giggling in good spirits with some of South Africa’s funniest clips, demonstrating our ability to adapt to Change with that proudly South African sense of humour.
We join Jason Ralph and Robyn Sara Scott for a demonstration of the “new norms” and the panic that ensues after venturing into a public space. Of course, we then take a little time out for our annual psychic reading, but Mel Jones has a disclaimer: She didn’t say that 2020 would be bright, she said that 2020 would give you a fright – and she was right!
Tyson Ngubeni shares some fascinating insights on that mysterious crockery cabinet, and what it’s purpose is in the typical South African home – and we find out why today’s pancakes are tasting like yesterday’s frikkadels. Stuart then gives us our weekly fix of sports entertainment, by handing over to Coach Dalin. Coach does his best to get Stormers Jaco Coetzee to break a sweat, however it’s nothing short of a warm up for the athlete. Fortunately Jaco has been keeping in tip top shape and can move faster than a taxi driver in peak hour traffic – when we still had peak hour traffic.
We round off this humorous adventure by joining David Viviers and Jazzara Jaslyn for dinner. Needless to say, being vegan and Captonion in 2020 is quite a balancing act!
Change can be an uncomfortable adjustment, but we as South Africans never fail to find the humour in awkward situations and embrace the lighter side of life together as a nation.
