Alan Knott-Craig Jnr.

Alan started his career as a CA, but realised that he didn’t like wearing suits or working in Excel.

Armed with little more than enthusiasm, he entered the world of technology. Within a mere ten years Alan co-founded or funded 17 companies in the telecoms, tech and media sector, was the CEO of wireless ISP iBurst, and spent a year at the helm of mobile social network Mxit.

In these ten years Alan also became a husband and a father to three little girls. He is now combining his experience in technology with his commitment to building an Africa in which his daughters can be happy, with the launch of Project Isizwe, a non-profit organisation facilitating the roll-out of free Wi-Fi networks across Africa.
