The following thought really got us thinking:
“Happiness comes from the intersection of what you love, what you’re good at, and what the world needs. We’ve been told time and again to keep finding the first. Our schools helped developed the second. It’s time we put more thought on the third.”
It comes from an article we read in the Blog Network of the Harvard Business Review, which argues many people lose direction by solely focusing on their passions when they pursue happiness. To stay on the right track, you need to consider doing the following:
1. Develop situational awareness
2. Look into problems that affect you in a very personal way
3. Connect with people working on big problems
4. Take time off and travel
