On Saturday 4 July, we held a special live-stream event from the DHL Newlands Stadium, hosted by Brian Habana, Elma Smit and Siv Ngesi. The broadcast was held in honour of this majestic and historical venue, which is also home to the DHL Stormers.
Emotions and nostalgia were running high, from Cheslin Kolbe’s memorable proposal, to a moving rendition of “The Crossing” by Johnny Clegg, which was performed by all the players and guests. We also enjoyed some favourite memories and stories shared by the likes of Siya Kolisi, Robbie Fleck, Gert Smal, John Dobson, Bonga Scarra Ntubeni, Bongi Mbonambi, Steven Kitshoff, Corne Krige, Jean de Villiers, Breyton Paulse and some DHL Stormers fans. We also managed to catch up with our 10 lucky winners and hear what made DHL Newlands so special to them.
