Moderation policy

How and when we’ll moderate your comments

For the Website to live up to its name, we’ve got to make sure it’s a great space for you to ask questions, post comments and exchange ideas. So we’ve decided on a few non-negotiables when it comes to moderating your comments. We don’t want to cramp your style or bog you down in rules and red tape. But we do need to make sure you’re treated with the respect and dignity you deserve when commenting on our site, and that your rights are protected. And that depends on you returning the favour.

So please stick to these rules when commenting:

  •  No unlawful, defamatory, insulting, discriminatory, racist, sexist or homophobic
    comments, or comments which would otherwise constitute hate speech;
  • No rude, offensive or obscene language, references or images, including sexually
    offensive or sexually provocative content of any kind;
  • No abusive or aggressive language, including threats, harassment, insults or personal
    attacks;
  • No content that would constitute, encourage or provide instructions for a criminal
    offence, violate the rights of any party, or that would otherwise create liability or
    violate any law;
  • No content that may infringe any patent, trade mark, trade secret, copyright or
    other intellectual or proprietary right of any party;
  • No content that impersonates any person or entity or otherwise misrepresents your
    affiliation with any person or entity, including BrightRock and/or the Website;
  • No spam, unsolicited promotions, product punts, political campaigning, advertising,
    contests, raffles, self-promotion or solicitations, and no links to websites or blogs
    where other services or products are marketed;
  • No invasive or intrusive questions, content that is invasive of another person’s
    privacy, or content that contains the personal information of any third party;
  • No viruses, corrupted data or other harmful, disruptive or destructive files;
  • No comments that detract from the quality and integrity of the Change Exchange’s
    content, for example comments that are off-topic, irrelevant or misleading; and
    no content or links to content that, in the sole judgment of BrightRock (a) violates
    any of the above, (b) is objectionable, (c) restricts or inhibits any other person from
    using or enjoying the Website, or (d) may expose BrightRock or its affiliates or users
    to any harm or liability of any type.

Please remember that you are responsible for all content that you post on the Website. BrightRock takes no responsibility and assumes no liability for any comments posted by you or any third party, or for any loss or damage by such comments, nor is BrightRock liable for any mistakes, defamation, omissions, falsehoods, obscenity, pornography or profanity you may encounter. As a provider of interactive services, BrightRock is not liable for any statements, representations or content provided by its users in any public forum, personal home page or other interactive area. Although we have no obligation to screen, edit or monitor comments, we reserve the right, and have the absolute discretion, to screen, review, edit or delete without notice any comments posted on the Website at any time. We’ll do so if they are determined, in the sole discretion of BrightRock and/or the administrators of the Website, to be in breach of this Comment Policy. We also have the right to ban you from commenting on the Website entirely if we, in our sole discretion, feel it necessary.

But don’t worry – we’re not planning a moderation power trip anytime soon. We’ll use our better judgement and won’t be petty or unreasonable when we apply this policy.

Please do report problems, offensive content and behaviour that you believe to be in breach of this Comments Policy to us here.
